Training – It’s ALL about the sport

Volleyball is a great sport. It is one of the sports that young athletes can enjoy and continue playing throughout their entire lives. Both young and old volleyball players can see great improvements in their game with sports specific exercises.

Volleyball is a very explosive sport that requires unique strengths. Each position puts a specific demand on the body. To prepare your body for those demands you need to train it for those demands. That is the concept behind sports specific training. This type of training puts the body through drills that mimic game situations and enhance volleyball specific needs for strength, as with the serve or kills, or flexibility and agility, as with digs and jumping skills for playing the net.

Volleyball – Oh Yeah!

Hello and welcome to my blog, ‘Volleyball – Oh Yeah!’.

Why the title?

Well, after training a few volleyball players this past summer and attending quite a few games, I have come to love the game. What really attracted my to the game was not only the athleticism of the young athlete’s, but the respect they have for their teammates and opponents. It would be great of all sports were this way.

Please stay posted for anything from nutrition and training tips to being and staying positive at all times. I urge you to comment and offer any advice to your fellow volleyball players.
You will be hearing about how one of my clients was her teams leading blocker as a college freshman middle blocker. Oh….she is ONLY 5′6″!

Volleyball – OH YEAH!!!!!

Interval Training – See Dramatic Results With Interval Training

Interval training is a great way to spice up a workout and get awesome results. Do you ever find that your cardiovascular workout routine is getting a little too repetitive, a little too boring? Boredom is a huge problem and one of the main reasons people give up on exercise, but it doesn’t have to be that way. There are so many different ways to challenge your body and your mind during your workouts that you should never feel bored.

The key is to always keep learning new things and to learn variations of the exercises and routines you are currently doing. One of these variations is aerobic interval training and that is what we are going to talk about today.

Goals vs. Dreams

So what is it?

A Goal?

A Dream?

Think about it…

You may want to ‘tone up’..Is that your GOAL or is it to far fetched that it seems like a Dream?

Starting your own side business…Goal or a Dream?

Dream, meaning that you shrug it off and say, ‘Pooey…I’m just dreaming. It will NEVER happen’

Guess what?

YOUR 100% RIGHT

Yeah I said it..HA…YOUR RIGHT

If you say it is NEVER going to happen then it isn’t..BUT..if you throw a little ‘Barry’ into it, it becomes a actionable goal.

Why would you, WE talk ourselves out of anything?

Why would we say ‘NO’ to ourselves?

Let everyone else say it, but PLEASE don’t say NO to you no matter what.

Be persistant with YOURSELF and the goals you wish to achieve.
