A legend has passed. RIP Jack Lalanne…Thanks for being YOU

Sadly, the world has lost THE MOST influential and inspirational voice of health and nutrition.

Jack Lalanne died in his home Sunday January 23rd. He was 96 years young.

When I travel and flip the channels at night and find Jack on TV I watch and watch and watch. The entire time with a smile, because he was an always will be so right about what it takes to live a happy and healthy life.

It seemed like forever that Jack Lalanne was telling the world that there is only one person that can help them live a happy and healthy life. Do you know who that person is?

YOU

I can honestly say, without hesitation, that Jack Lalanne was right on with what he said about nutrition and exercise and I proudly find myself saying or repeating the many things he has said. Why?

Because it is the TRUTH and it is REALITY.

It’s not about selling a ridiculous piece of exercise equipment or ‘too good to be true’ diet plan.

When you exercise and eat well you will be rewarded. How? With a high energy day. By doing things you would like to do, anytime, anywhere.

Want to go for a hike? DO IT!

Want to run the beach as the sun rises? DO IT!

Want to play ball with your son or daughter without feeling fatigued? DO IT!

Are you a coach? Wouldn’t you like to get on the field with the athletes? DO IT!

You can do all of this IF you treat your body right.

This is an awesome comment from Jack: Would you get your dog up in the morning for a cup of coffee and a donut?

No and you would not feed him/her candy, soda, deep fried foods etc.

As we would not put crap into the engines of our car. Can you imagine putting sugar in your oil tank? How about soda in your gas tank?

You shook your head and most likely said, ‘Barry, that is ridiculous. It doesn’t make sense’

NO KIDDING!

Why on earth do we do this to our bodies then? THE MOST SOPHISTICATED MACHINE ON THE PLANET.

Please…for YOU and your family, but most importantly for YOU…make the change today.

What is it going to be?

Walk around the living room in your house a few times. Do a few more in two days, a few more in four days etc.

How about walking the dog or with a friend or spouse.

Get back to the gym and take some classes.

PLEASE MOVE! Get the motor running and feel great.

NEXT….

Eliminate..

White sugars, whole milk ( I highly, as Jack Lalanne does, recommend NO MILK or dairy. Replace with Silk almond milk), SODA, white breads white rice, white pastas, deep fried foods..WAIT..

Seriously..do I have to tell you these things? You know what is bad..

TRY THIS

Week 1..eliminate ONE THING

Week 2…Eliminate another

Week 3…Eliminate another

Now..after 21 days habits are formed. Time to crank it up.

Week 4..Eliminate 2-3 more things..

Week 5..continue..

In just a few short weeks you will feel like a FRIGGEN CHAMP!

A high flying, energized FRIGGEN CHAMP!

BUT WAIT!

Don’t forget that during those beginning weeks to incorporate some form of exercise.

Walking (PLEASE! DO NOT give me the it’s cold outside excuse – walk your stairs at home, around your furniture etc), get to the local gym and take a class or just ride a bike etc.. Try this 3 times a week for about 10-20 minutes IF you are OK with that. Only YOU know how you are feeling. If 5 minutes seems like it is too much – STOP – that is 5 more minutes than you may have done previously.

Remember, Jack Lalanne was a HUGE fan of body weight exercises as well as bands and balance workouts. One of THE BEST ways to train the body.

Implement a little more each week and you will see how great you feel.

Honestly, you will WANT to move more and eat healthier once you start….FOR SURE!
