Oprah Winfrey Goes Vegan For A Week = FAIL

Well, as you can tell from the subject title today’s Orpah Winfrey show, I feel as well as many of my friends worldwide, that the show was a complete failure which was pretty much ‘as expected’ with Oprah.

I am going to talk about how I felt about the show. If you get ticked off at me, please don’t leave without picking up some free info at the bottom. They are links to recipes and my Omni’s Guide to Vegetarianism. Now worries..I don’t need your email or anything. They are links to download the goodies.

Let’s move on shall we?? :)

First, I am extremely happy that millions of people watched and it has many non-vegans thinking about making the change from eating meat and consuming animals products to now giving it up. I always said that this needs to happen on a show where the WORLD watches. So, yes I am very happy some had their eyes opened….

BUT….

the BUT is that Oprah was just being Orpah.

RATINGS

RATINGS

RATINGS

In my personal opinion she tried to do this, AGAIN, because Ellen is kicking her arse in ratings and because Ellen talks about being vegan on her show. If you are unaware, Ellen went vegan and is a great role model for the vegan peeps and an inspiration to the non-vegans.

Why am I so ticked off?

Because of the the way Winfrey conducted herself and the things she said and showed or should I say, did not show.

First, when they are ready to show the audience where meat comes from she says in her ‘Oprah voice’ and a little smile, ‘So let’s go to the slaughterhouse’ ( or something like that. I will watch it again to find out her exact words).

ANYONE with a conscience would be saddened about where the cameras are going. This is a ‘death march’ for these poor innocent animals brought on this earth to be raised to end up on ones plate for NO REASON.

Smile and speak as if they are going on a ride at Disney is sickening.

Then, they end up at a feed lot where the disgusting farmer who laughed and chuckled when asked if the sole purpose of the feed lot was to beef them up for slaughter: ‘haha, YUP!’ DISGUSTING!

Moving on..

They get to the very clean slaughterhouse. Everything looks so perfect and nice..

NOT REALITY!

The spokesperson, smiling the whole way, talks about how great they are and that the animals ‘feel nothing’

Oprah herself towards the end of the show puts her arms on the lady and says, ‘and they feel no pain’.

So Oprah, what is ‘pain’ to you?

Who in the H is Oprah to say they felt no pain!?!?

What? Because SHE says so it is true?

Sadly, many people WILL follow everything she says, even this bullshat.

Didn’t you see the scared looked in the cows eyes and how they stopped looking around wondering what is going on?

Pain isn’t all physical.

What about the ‘end’? Where was that?

These poor babies are standing in a controlled area where they cannot move and they hear exactly what is going on in front of them.

Pain? I guess mental anguish is not pain Oprah. If that is the case then I guess you have never been in ‘pain’ while you went through the horrifying things you went through as a child??

There is a reason they did not want you to see the ‘truth’ at the end of the line. Think about it…

If everything was OK and fine then why not show it? I don’t get it…

Wait, yes I do.

Because they LIED!

The ‘wacker’ is not always accurate. It is not uncommon that stunning does not work. When this happens the cows are basically paralyzed, not dead and can feel due to not losing sensibility.

What happens then?

Well, if their necks are not cut soon enough they will become conscious and regain their senses while hanging on the bleed line.

Nice huh?

But hey, no pain as Oprah says.

Here is Reality:

Next..

Going through Whole Foods and picking ONLY processed foods?

Really? That was lame!

There are many ways to eat other then processed foods, but funny how a corporation was used to promote getting vegan food instead of using recipes that anyone can do any day. My FREE recipe e-book below.

Michael Pollan…

Well, he talks about the poor farmers.

Does anyone know that the poor farmers and the way they farm are killing our environment?

Google it..you will find TONS of info!

Do you know it takes almost 3,000 gallons of water to produce ONE POUND of meat?

Why wasn’t that mentioned?

Newsweek once wrote: “the water that goes into a 1,000 pound steer would float a destroyer.”

How about the grain fed to cattle?

Ready for this estimate from Cornell Universities Science Dept?

U.S. could feed 800 million people with grain that livestock eat.

Skipping the ‘truth’ behind the slaughterhouse is a disgrace and Oprah should be ashamed of herself, although that will never happen. She speaks it so it must be true.

Why I watched, I really don’t know.

A few years ago her and Bob Green got me going. In fact that may be the last time I watched her show.

Check out what she tried back then:

OK…Let’s stop talking about this failure of a show and help you.

Below is  a link for my Omni’s Guide to Vegetarianism. It’s a few years old, but will help if you are thinking about going vegetarian or vegan.

Thanks for your time and letting me vent about Oprah and her huge failure today.
