The choices we make

Choices when it comes to preparing practices..
This past weekend we Mike Roussell come in and speak at our gym
and one thing he said made me think of ALL the coaches I work with
and who are on my email list.
It is as follows:
'When you make a choice to do one thing, you are making a choice NOT to do another'.
Hmmmmm....

Well, Mike is a nutritionist and he was talking about when you choose to
have a bowl of sugary cereal for breakfast you are choosing NOT to
have oats, or a shake or peanut butter and toast with a banana etc
I immediately thought, 'WOW, this is SO true with my peeps'!
What I hear over and over from coaches and assistant coaches is this:
'I just don't have time to train'. We NEED to work on ___________'
Which is understandable, BUT you are choosing to leave one of the most
important parts of sports performance out of the equation and that is
adding some sort of training to at least 2-3 practices a week.
(If you are including the training throughout the season, please ignore me
and pat yourself on the back! Thanks for your time so far..:) )
STOP YELLING AT ME!
I know what you are thinking, but please know that so many of your
counterparts all over the world are training in season and it is not
effecting their game. In fact, it is helping.
Coaches can easily set up a quick circuit or super sets to do for just 10-15 minutes, 2-3 times a week and see fabulous results.
Please give yourself and your team the opportunity to maximize their sports
performance by training in season. You will be happy you CHOSE to do so :)
Thanks for your time and have an awesome day!
